Some trans women are more classically feminine than genetic women. Since femininity didn’t necessarily come naturally, they had to actively work to be feminine. Be it dress, makeup, body language, or surgical modification, many trans women deliberately try to be as feminine as possible. To draw a very lose comparison, consider the various courtesans and suchlike throughout history. They studied the “feminine” arts, and so were typically more feminine than women who hadn’t studied or trained. I think there is a similar thing happening with many trans women. Considering that you’re straight, it would make sense you would be attracted to whatever sort of person reads as most feminine to you. The cognitive dissonance derives from your conscious , rational mind, probably still seeing trans women as men to some degree, yet your subconscious mind is responding to feminine sexual cues. Which leaves you with a choice. You can choose only to date genetic women, you can choose to date only trans women, or you can choose to date either. None of these options is wrong. And if it’s a concern, none of these choices make you “gay” either, considering it’s the femininity that you are attracted to, so don’t worry about that. Think it over, and decide what you want to do. And remember two things. Whatever you chose to do is okay. Nobody should try to make you feel guilt or shame for whatever you chose, your sexuality is your own and nobody is permitted to dictate it to you.
